Blake Shelton Hosted The Historic Opry 100 Celebration
Blake Shelton was the host of Opry 100 but also performed “Pickup Man” live.
This performance was in partnership with Trace Adkins and Clint Black for a “Party Jam” mashup of ’90s country favorites.
Black sang the 1998 hit “Nothin’ but the Taillights,” and Adkins performed “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing.” Watch a portion of the mashup below.
I’m still reeling from the magnificent Opry 100 celebration that showcased the heart and soul of country music. What we glimpsed on television barely captured the magical atmosphere of this historic gathering!
Carrie Underwood’s heartfelt tribute to Randy Travis brought tears to my eyes, while the unexpected yet brilliant collaboration between Post Malone and Travis Tritt had me jumping out of my seat. These performances weren’t just entertaining—they were moments that will be etched in country music history forever.
As the NBC and Peacock broadcast concluded, over 50 Grand Ole Opry members stood united on that legendary stage to honor Dolly Parton with a spine-tingling rendition of “I Will Always Love You.” Lady A’s Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, and Dave Haywood beautifully led this tribute, with Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire lending their iconic voices to the chorus.
What viewers at home missed was perhaps the most poignant moment of all. After the cameras stopped rolling, these country stars remained on stage for one final, unbroadcast performance—a special treat exclusively for those fortunate enough to be in attendance.
Thanks to Country Rebel sharing this hidden gem on social media, fans caught a glimpse of these country legends uniting in harmony to perform the timeless “Will the Circle Be Unbroken”—a perfect, goosebump-inducing finale to the celebration.
I’m thrilled to share that according to the Grand Ole Opry’s Instagram, you can now experience the complete performance by streaming Opry 100 on Peacock, with snippets available in the social media posts referenced below.
